Men’s Sheds is an idea which started in Australia in 1996 when it was recognised that many men were both culturally inhibited and had few opportunities to talk about health and well-being issues. Men’s Sheds were seen as an ideal way to help promote social interaction.
There are 17 awards available across a range of categories covering all areas of education. New awards for this year include learning for sustainability, making languages come alive and transforming lives through partnerships.
Run by Digital By Default News in partnership with the Digital Leaders programme, this year’s awards will name the top 100 Digital Leaders across 10 categories, including an award for ‘Charity/Social Enterprise Digital Leader of the Year.’
Launched in 2012, the Creative Place Awards recognise communities where people work together to celebrate and promote their town, village or area through the arts and culture - enabling them to build on their strengths and to try new things.
