Being an Employer Section
This section refers to all aspects of what is often referred to as Human Resources or Personnel issues i.e the recruitment, retention, management, training and development of your organisation’s most important asset – its people.
The following sections refer to current law and can be applied in most instances to both paid and unpaid staff (ie volunteers). In instances where volunteers are not specifically covered by employment law, it is good practice for any organisation or group to apply (wherever possible) the same principles to unpaid staff as they would in observing legal responsibilities towards employing paid staff.
